My Experience:
I have a wide range of experiences that inform my practice. I understand about attachment, trauma, and sensory needs, and I approach your symptoms through a mind-body lens. My lifelong background in both art and advocacy helps me understand the world in a very "outside the box" way. I study practices like liberation psychology, participatory research, and mutual aid along with art movements like FLUXUS, noise music, and poetry. I'm trained in traditional, evidence-based therapy, and I keep up to date with current research and thought in the mental health world. I am also an EMDRIA-approved EMDR therapist. I never stop studying and learning. I find immense fulfillment in supporting, sharing and learning with my clients. Read more about my experience here.
What's Therapy with Me Like?
I want to know your story, and really understand what life is like in your shoes. You won't always know what to say or "do" in a session, and we can make space for that. I'll teach you whatever I can about the brain, nervous system responses, emotions, and how humans tend to experience these things. I like giving you learning materials between sessions, such as books, podcasts, videos, etc. If you're interested, we can try creative approaches like connecting with nature, art, music, sensory tools, or mindful movement.
